A growing and highly respected Southern California general contractor is seeking a talented Project Engineer to support the delivery of complex Public Works and DSA construction projects in the Palmdale area.

Job Description

Our Project Engineer will:

  • Support the successful execution of Public Works and DSA construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, consultants, inspectors, subcontractors, and public agencies.
  • Support procurement activities and material tracking.
  • Participate in owner meetings and project coordination meetings.
  • Ensure project documentation remains accurate, organized, and compliant.
  • Assist with project closeout activities and turnover documentation.
  • Partner with field teams to help maintain safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives.

The Successful Applicant

An ideal Project Engineer will have:

  • Minimum 2 years of construction experience with the majority of experience focused on Public Works projects.
  • Experience working for a General Contractor is required.
  • DSA experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project controls, document management, and contract administration.
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project coordination activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
