Job Description

  • Implement project controls tools and methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules in accordance with client procedures and industry best practices.
  • Perform critical path analysis and provide schedule insights and corrective action recommendations.
  • Support schedule contingency management and collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Provide regular project updates and communicate deviations from approved project baselines.
  • Proactively identify and manage schedule variances while maintaining a questioning attitude toward project deviations.
  • Support month-end closeout activities and phase-gate processes.
  • Ensure standardized file structures and locations exist for all required schedule documentation.
  • Produce look-ahead schedules, actuals reports, and schedule quality metrics.
  • Assemble supporting documentation to satisfy project team and client requirements.
  • Analyze project data and develop reports that support project monitoring and decision-making.
  • Interface regularly with project management teams to monitor schedule performance.
  • Collaborate with cost analysts to develop time-phased cost forecasts.
  • Travel to client offices for project coordination meetings, as needed.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Scheduler should have:

  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Practical understanding and application of project controls principles.
  • Minimum 10 years of project experience.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with project teams, clients, vendors, and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated motivation to learn new skills, expand technical knowledge, and contribute meaningful value to project operations.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate work with strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel and/or MS Access, including the creation of detailed, interactive spreadsheets, workbooks, and databases.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering internship, co-op, or professional experience related to:
    • Project Controls
    • Project Planning
    • Project Scheduling
    • Earned Value Management (EVM)
    • Power Industry Projects



In addition, one of the following credentials or equivalent qualifications is preferred:

  • AACE CST certification or equivalent PMI certification.
  • Progress toward AACE CCP, CEP, PSP, PRMP, EVP, or equivalent PMI certification.
  • Equivalent professional training in lieu of the certifications listed above.
  • Successful completion of designated proficiency testing in lieu of certifications or training.
