Job Description

  • Lead the design and development of new products and enhancements to existing product lines.
  • Create, review, and approve engineering drawings, models, and technical documentation.
  • Perform advanced engineering analyses, including structural, motion, thermal, and computational simulations where required.
  • Drive design decisions through data analysis, testing, and engineering best practices.
  • Develop and execute validation and verification plans to ensure product performance and reliability.
  • Coordinate testing activities, review results, and implement design improvements based on findings.
  • Manage engineering changes, bills of materials, and product configuration data within PLM systems.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and product management teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Support Design for Manufacturing initiatives and work with suppliers to optimize quality, cost, and performance.
  • Conduct tolerance analysis and ensure compliance with engineering standards and drafting requirements.
  • Contribute to intellectual property development through technical evaluations, patent-related activities, and trade studies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across engineering projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives relating to engineering processes, tools, methodologies, and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective, data-driven solutions.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and have significant experience within a research and development or product design environment. They will bring a strong background in developing complex mechanical products and a demonstrated ability to solve challenging engineering problems.Key requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 7-10 years of product design, development, or R&D engineering experience.
  • Expertise in 3D CAD modelling and technical drawing creation, ideally using SolidWorks or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawing standards.
  • Experience performing advanced engineering analyses, such as FEA, motion studies, CFD, or thermal analysis.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, molding, stamping, casting, forging, and assembly.
  • Experience working within PLM environments and managing engineering changes.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Proven capability to lead projects independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments and industry specifications is advantageous.
