Job Description

The Senior Estimator/PreConstruction Manager is responsible for:

  • Reporting into the Chief Estimator
  • Supporting junior staff
  • Leading precon efforts, very client facing
  • Handling jobs soup to nuts - once job comes in this person would operate it (along with team to support)
  • Analyzing construction plans and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
  • Preparing estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors
  • Consulting with clients, subcontractors, vendors and personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
  • Collaborating with engineers, architects, owners and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
  • Reading and analyzing scopes of work
  • Reviewing RFI's and Addendums
  • Attending any necessary pre-construction meetings
  • Presenting estimates to clients/owners

The Successful Applicant

The right Senior Estimator/PreConstruction Manager has the following qualifications:

  • Commutable to Bridgewater MA - WFH flex once ramped up (3 in office/2 from home split)
  • 10 to 15 years of Construction Management Estimating/Precon experience
  • Ideally for Multifamily, Wood Frame, Block & Plank, Assisted Living, Hotel projects (not retail)
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, presentation, and writing skills
  • Must be able to comprehend and communicate information that is technical in nature
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Softwares: on screen takeoff, excel
  • Bachelors Degree (Preferably Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture)
