The Senior Estimator will lead preconstruction and estimating efforts on projects ranging from $10M to $150M. This individual will play a strategic role in budgeting, conceptual estimating, subcontractor procurement, and owner presentations while helping drive successful project pursuits.

About Our Client

Our client is an established Chicago-area general contractor with over 50 years of success delivering commercial, healthcare, institutional, and industrial projects throughout the Midwest. Due to sustained growth and a robust backlog, they are seeking a Senior Estimator to join their Oak Brook office.

Job Description

  • Lead preconstruction services and estimating functions on large-scale projects
  • Prepare conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP estimates
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements
  • Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor proposals
  • Develop budgets, value engineering recommendations, and cost studies
  • Participate in client meetings and business development initiatives
  • Mentor junior estimators and provide oversight throughout the bid process
  • Collaborate closely with operations teams during project turnover

The Successful Applicant

  • 8+ years of estimating experience within commercial construction
  • Experience estimating healthcare, commercial, institutional, industrial, or mixed-use projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and market pricing
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, On-Screen Takeoff, or equivalent software
  • Ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
