About Our Client

A well‑established and growing construction management firm specializing in commercial, industrial, and institutional projects is seeking a Senior Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This individual will play a critical role in developing accurate, competitive cost estimates and supporting pursuits from conceptual budgeting through final GMP.

This role is ideal for a seasoned estimator who enjoys collaboration, has strong market knowledge, and thrives in a fast‑paced, relationship‑driven environment.

Job Description

  • Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, and hard‑bid estimates for construction projects across multiple delivery methods (CM at Risk, Design‑Build, Lump Sum, etc.)
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other contract documents to identify scope requirements and potential risks
  • Lead quantity takeoffs and pricing using historical cost data, subcontractor input, and market trends
  • Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor bids
  • Develop value engineering options and cost‑saving alternatives for clients and project teams
  • Collaborate closely with project management, operations, and business development teams during preconstruction
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations related to budgets, estimates, and preconstruction strategy
  • Maintain and update cost databases, production rates, and estimating tools
  • Mentor junior estimators and support the continuous improvement of estimating processes

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Estimator should have:

  • 8+ years of estimating experience within commercial construction or construction management
  • Strong experience estimating ground‑up and/or complex renovation projects
  • Proficiency with estimating software (such as Sage, Procore, OST, or similar platforms)
  • Solid understanding of construction means and methods, materials, and current market pricing
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience working directly with owners, architects, and engineers preferred
