The Senior Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for optimizing and scaling manufacturing processes for advanced ceramic components used in aerospace applications. This role works cross‑functionally with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure high‑performance, consistent, and compliant manufacturing operations.

Job Description

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for ceramic components
  • Improve yield, reduce defects, and shorten cycle times
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Specify and maintain manufacturing equipment and tooling
  • Create and manage SOPs, work instructions, and documentation
  • Support new product introduction and process scale‑up
  • Partner with R&D, Quality, and Production teams
  • Ensure compliance with QMS and aerospace standards (AS9100)
  • Apply SPC and DOE methods for process improvement
  • Ensure adherence to safety and material handling standards
  • Train teams on processes and manufacturing best practices

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Manufacturing Engineer should have:

  • BS in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5-8+ years in ceramics, composites, or manufacturing
  • Experience in high‑throughput manufacturing environments
  • Strong background in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen
  • Experience with SPC and DOE methodologies
  • CAD experience (SolidWorks, NX, or similar)
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP) preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Excellent cross‑functional communication abilities
