Job Description

The Senior Project Manager will:

  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Serve as the primary client contact and trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, procurement, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Coordinate RFQ and RFP processes and support contract negotiations to maximize client value.
  • Direct contractors, consultants, vendors, and project teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Facilitate project meetings and drive alignment, accountability, and decision-making.
  • Maintain project documentation including meeting minutes, financial tracking, due diligence materials, and project records.
  • Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, financial updates, risk assessments, and key performance metrics.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities, attending networking events, and leveraging industry relationships.
  • Collaborate with leadership on proposals, interviews, presentations, and project pursuits.
  • Mentor and support junior team members while fostering a high-performing culture.
  • Contribute to revenue goals and overall firm performance objectives.
  • Travel regularly throughout the DC Metro area to project sites and client meetings.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Project Manager should have:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction project management, owner's representation, general contracting, commercial real estate development, or a related industry.
  • Strong background managing corporate office projects within the DMV market, including law firms, technology companies, associations, and non-profit organizations.
  • Experience independently leading projects and managing executive-level client relationships.
  • Ability to manage 3 to 6 projects concurrently, depending on size and complexity.
  • Strong understanding of planning, design, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, construction, and project closeout.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings, including furniture plans.
  • Established network within the DMV AEC industry and ability to identify new business opportunities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam.
  • Driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the DC Metro area.
  • Must currently reside within the DMV region; relocation assistance is not available.
  • Willingness to work a hybrid schedule with Monday through Thursday in-office or on-site and Friday remote.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
