Job Description

  • Lead the successful delivery of ground-up commercial construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, cost controls, procurement strategies, schedules, and risk management efforts.
  • Direct and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract negotiations, performance management, and execution.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and at the highest quality standards.
  • Lead project buyout activities and coordinate all planning and execution efforts throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Provide regular financial and operational reporting to senior leadership.
  • Support the development of future construction professionals through coaching and mentorship.
  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic project initiatives and regional growth opportunities.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects valued at $20M-$50M+.
  • Strong project experience within sectors such as:
    • K-12 Education
    • Higher Education
    • Healthcare
    • Municipal
    • Commercial Office
    • Multifamily
    • Judicial
    • Industrial
  • Demonstrated success managing all phases of construction, including preconstruction, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, execution, and closeout.
  • Experience leading client-facing relationships and managing project financial performance.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and/or Primavera P6.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with executive leadership teams.
  • Must be located in or willing to relocate to the Charlotte, NC area.
