About Our Client

A well-established, privately held national general contractor and construction management firm is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex retail construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a construction professional who excels at managing client relationships, project financials, subcontractor relationships, schedules, and high-performing project teams.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience delivering retail, commercial interiors, tenant improvement, renovation, or ground-up retail projects, particularly in environments involving occupied facilities, phased construction, accelerated schedules, or active customer-facing operations.

Job Description

Glimpse of your role:

    • Lead projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget goals are met.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
    • Oversee estimating, budgeting, value engineering, bidding, and subcontractor buyout.
    • Develop and manage project schedules, costs, documentation, and forecasting.
    • Coordinate subcontractors, resolve issues, manage changes, and drive successful project completion
    • Lead and motivate project teams with clear direction, communication, and accountability.
    • Mentor and develop project management staff and future leaders.
    • Collaborate effectively with clients, subcontractors, field teams, and internal stakeholders.
    • Develop relationships with current and prospective clients to identify new opportunities.
    • Participate in client presentations, project interviews, and business development efforts.
    • Support negotiations and help secure new projects.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of construction management experience across diverse project environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing retail, commercial interiors, tenant improvement, renovation, or ground-up retail construction projects strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in occupied facilities, phased renovations, accelerated schedules, or customer-facing environments highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project financial management, scheduling, subcontractor management, and project delivery.
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and build strong client relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities.

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $130,000-$145,000, depending on factors such as location, transferable skills, experience, certifications, business needs, internal equity, and market conditions.
