Senior Substation Engineer, PE

• Lead the engineering and design of substations ranging from 69kV, 115kV, 138kV, 161kV, 230kV, 345kV, and up to 500kV
• Support greenfield and brownfield AIS and GIS substation projects for utility and infrastructure clients
• Develop and review substation physical layouts, equipment arrangements, grounding plans, conduit/raceway designs, and cable routing
• Coordinate substation equipment specifications including transformers, breakers, switches, bus systems, relays, CTs, PTs, and associated HV equipment
• Review and approve engineering calculations including grounding studies, lightning protection, voltage drop, cable sizing, and station service analysis
• Coordinate with protection & controls, civil, structural, and transmission line engineering teams throughout project execution
• Oversee engineering deliverables including construction packages, BOMs, technical specifications, and design documentation
• Ensure compliance with utility standards, IEEE, NEC, NESC, and applicable industry codes
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and designers
• Interface directly with utility clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders during project execution
• Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, proposal development, and technical reviews
• Provide construction and field support including RFIs, outage coordination, and issue resolution
• Support renewable energy interconnection and grid modernization projects
