Known for technical excellence and innovation, they deliver complex transmission and distribution projects across North America.Job DescriptionLead the engineering design and execution of transmission and distribution substation projects.Prepare, review, and approve one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, protection and control drawings, and physical layouts.Perform and review engineering calculations related to grounding, lightning protection, cable sizing, conduit systems, and equipment selection.Lead equipment specification and selection for transformers, switchgear, breakers, disconnect switches, bus systems, and related substation equipment.Serve as the technical lead on projects and provide guidance to junior engineers and designers.Coordinate with civil, structural, protection and control, construction, and project management teams.Manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and resource planning from an engineering perspective.Ensure compliance with applicable IEEE, NEC, NESC, utility, and client standards.Review vendor drawings, technical submittals, and equipment documentation.Participate in client meetings, technical presentations, design reviews, and proposal support activities.Support construction, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field engineering efforts as required.Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.Mentor and develop junior engineering staff.Perform additional duties as assigned.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
