The Senior Tax Manager will lead a team of Tax Associates while overseeing complex partnership tax matters, including planning and return review. The Senior Tax Manager is a high impact role with exposure to real estate finance and strategic tax initiatives, reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance.

Job Description

  • Manage Tax Associates responsible for preparing and reviewing partnership tax returns; provide coaching and guidance.
  • Oversee the end-to-end tax compliance calendar.
  • Prepare and review federal and state returns across real estate partnerships and corporate entities.
  • Ensure timely completion of all tax workpapers, reviews, and filings across internal teams and external providers.
  • Support planning on partnership allocations, depreciation, 1031 exchanges, Section 754 adjustments, and other complex tax matters.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, and deal teams to provide tax insights.
  • Use tools like GenAI to help streamline tax research, organize data, and support tax analysis.
  • Contribute to special projects and evolving business needs within the tax function.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Tax Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Business, or a related field.
  • CPA license is preferred.
  • 6-10+ years of relevant tax experience ideally within real estate partnerships or real estate focused clients.
  • Proven experience reviewing partnership and corporate tax returns.
  • Experience working across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills.
