Job Description

In this role, you will:

  • Develop project scopes, schedules, work plans, and staffing plans
  • Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for CDOT clients, building and maintaining strong long-term relationships
  • Manage transportation projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from proposal development through project closeout
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Monitor project profitability, utilization, and overall financial performance
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and strategic pursuits
  • Mentor and develop project managers and technical staff
  • Ensure compliance with CDOT standards, quality requirements, and company procedures
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to expand GEC's transportation practice

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Transportation Project Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • 10+ years of transportation engineering and project management experience
  • Experience with IDOT or other municipal transportation agencies
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong client relationship management and communication skills
  • Ability to lead multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced consulting environment.
