Job Description



Location: Washington, DC Metro Area (DC/Maryland/Virginia)

Work Schedule: Onsite 5 Days per Week

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (Conversion Opportunity After 90 Days)

  • Serve as the senior technical owner for Windows Server environments and production operations.
  • Administer, troubleshoot, patch, harden, and maintain Windows Server infrastructure.
  • Support and manage cloud-hosted environments, including AWS-based solutions.
  • Operate and troubleshoot Kubernetes (EKS) clusters and containerized workloads.
  • Lead production incident response and perform root cause analysis for critical issues.
  • Design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Build and support CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps automation.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance management solutions.
  • Create technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across infrastructure and DevOps initiatives

The Successful Applicant

Preferred Qualifications

  • PowerShell scripting and Windows automation expertise.
  • Terraform and Ansible experience.
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or other relevant cloud certifications.
  • Experience with FISMA, NIST, and FedRAMP compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with service mesh technologies, API gateways, and Kubernetes security.
  • Scripting experience with Python or Bash.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments.
