You will be responsible for managing all aspects of site safety on high-profile commercial projects in the Chicago area, working closely with project teams to minimize risk and maintain a safe working environment.

Job Description

  • Implement and enforce site-specific safety plans and OSHA compliance programs
  • Conduct daily site safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
  • Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training for site personnel
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with all safety regulations and standards
  • Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety violations; implement corrective actions
  • Maintain all required safety documentation, reports, and logs
  • Collaborate with Superintendents and Project Managers to proactively address safety concerns
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment across the job site

The Successful Applicant

  • 4+ years of experience in construction safety (commercial projects preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
  • OSHA 30 certification required (OSHA 500/510 preferred)
  • Experience conducting site audits, incident investigations, and safety training
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to influence field teams and enforce safety standards effectively
