Job Description

  • Conduct daily site inspections and audits to identify, mitigate, and prevent safety hazards
  • Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive site-specific safety plans in line with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and federal standards
  • Lead safety meetings and trainings, including Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) briefings
  • Serve as the on-site safety representative, partnering with Project Managers and Superintendents to maintain a safe working environment
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, ensuring proper documentation and reporting to internal leadership and government agencies
  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance across multiple trades without impacting productivity
  • Prepare and maintain all required safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
  • Communicate risks, trends, and site conditions to corporate safety leadership
  • Interpret and implement federal and state safety regulations across jobsite operations

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience, ideally on active jobsites
  • Federal construction experience required, with strong preference for NAVFAC or USACE projects
  • OSHA 30 certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
  • EM 385-1-1 (40-hour) certification strongly preferred (support available if needed)
  • Strong knowledge of fall protection, excavation, confined space, scaffolding, and hazard control practices
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with field teams, subcontractors, and government representatives
  • Experience with RMS or USACE projects is a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems
  • Ability to meet federal security clearance requirements
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to balance safety enforcement with operational efficiency
