Job Description

The Python Developer will join a senior technology team responsible for developing, enhancing and supporting a strategic Python-based platform used across the firm's Capital Markets organization.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Design, develop and enhance applications and platform functionality using Python.
  • Build scalable, reliable solutions supporting Capital Markets and risk users.
  • Work closely with technology, quantitative, risk and business stakeholders.
  • Develop solutions for complex financial markets and Market Risk requirements.
  • Contribute to the architecture and ongoing evolution of a strategic technology platform.
  • Maintain high standards across code quality, testing, performance and reliability.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues within a large-scale environment.
  • Collaborate with globally distributed engineering and business teams.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be an experienced Python Developer with a strong background in Financial Services and exposure to Capital Markets and/or Market Risk.

Key experience should include:

  • Strong commercial Python development experience.
  • Previous experience within Financial Services.
  • Capital Markets and/or Market Risk domain knowledge.
  • Experience developing complex, enterprise-scale applications or platforms.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and development best practices.
  • Ability to operate effectively within a large, complex financial institution.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience working on large-scale Python platforms within investment banking is highly desirable.
  • Experience with comparable bank-wide trading, analytics or risk platforms would be particularly relevant, including backgrounds working with platforms such as Athena or Quartz.



Location: New York (Midtown) or Jersey City.

Working pattern: Hybrid. 3 days a week in the office.
