They partner closely with customers, solve problems quickly, and take pride in being hands-on rather than overcomplicated.Job DescriptionDesign and develop metal stamping tools and processes for both new and existing products.Lead tooling design efforts, either hands-on or by selecting and managing qualified external tool design partners.Understand the current cost structure and drive ongoing improvements to reduce waste and improve efficiency.Work within the Quality Management System, including ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 requirements.Support customers as needed through phone, email, or in-person discussions.Troubleshoot tooling and process issues, working closely with tool and die makers to ensure accuracy and consistency.Perform root cause analysis on production issues and implement effective corrective actions.Partner with production teams to keep equipment running at peak performance.Create and maintain process documentation, including drawings, specifications, and work instructions.Identify and implement new technologies and automation to strengthen stamping operations.Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and compliance standards.Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to align products and processes.Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, scrap, and overall cost.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
