They prioritize safety, quality, and compliance while investing in long‑term system reliability, modernization, and collaborative partnerships to deliver complex substation solutions.Job DescriptionWorking under the direction of Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s) your role will encompass the following:Preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, analyses, reports and designs for electrical substations (Low, Medium and High Voltage).Preparation of calculations, design sketches and redline drawings.Working with Designers and CADD Technicians to develop drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes and project specifications and requirements.Developing design deliverables including one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA schemes, communications plans, substation physical layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC systems calculations and sizing, and substation grounding. MPI encourages applications from minorities, women, the disabled, protected veterans and all other qualified applicants.The Successful ApplicantEssential Skills & ExperienceAssociate Degree in Drafting or equivalent technical experience.5+ years of substation physical design experience.Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.Strong ability to visualize equipment details, phase‑to‑ground and phase‑to‑phase clearances.Ability to multitask across multiple projects.Strong 3D visualization ability without the use of computer tools.Valued Knowledge / SkillsAssociate Degree in Computer‑Aided Design.Familiarity with Bentley Substation, Inventor SDS, and BlueBeam.Experience with ground‑based Lidar and converting point‑cloud data to vector files.Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles for producing technical plans, drawings, and models.Understanding of engineering technology and how various equipment integrates within a technical design.What's on OfferHourly pay between $30 and $50, depending on experience.Access to medical, dental, and vision benefits.Opportunity to work in a key role within the energy and natural resources sector.A temporary position offering hands-on experience with impactful projects.This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Project Manager T&D to make a meaningful impact.
