Their portfolio includes substation modernization, greenfield transmission development, utility capital programs, renewable interconnections, grid reliability initiatives, and large-scale infrastructure expansion projects across North America.Job DescriptionTeam Leadership & ManagementLead, mentor, and develop a team of substation engineers, designers, and technical specialists across physical and/or protection & controls disciplines.Manage staffing plans, resource allocation, utilization, hiring, onboarding, and employee development.Conduct performance reviews, technical coaching, and succession planning activities.Establish engineering standards, QA/QC procedures, and best practices across the substation group.Foster collaboration across engineering disciplines including civil, structural, transmission, protection & controls, and project management.Technical LeadershipServe as technical authority for substation design and engineering execution.Provide oversight for engineering deliverables including:General arrangementsEquipment layoutsBus and conductor designGrounding studiesLightning protectionRaceway and cable designFoundation and structural coordinationControl building layoutsEquipment specifications and procurement supportReview and approve engineering packages to ensure compliance with utility standards and industry requirements.Support constructability reviews and field issue resolution.Project ExecutionLead engineering execution for greenfield and brownfield substation projects.Oversee project schedules, budgets, scope management, and risk mitigation.Coordinate with project managers and clients to ensure successful project delivery.Support proposals, project estimates, and business development initiatives.Participate in client meetings and act as senior technical representative.Client & Business DevelopmentBuild and maintain relationships with utilities, EPC firms, developers, and industrial clients.Identify opportunities for account growth and repeat business.Support proposal development, technical presentations, and strategic pursuits.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
