Job Description

The Superintendent - Education/Federal - Northern, VA will be responsible for:

  • Lead all on-site construction activities from groundbreaking through project completion
  • Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure project milestones are achieved
  • Manage site logistics, scheduling, safety compliance, and quality control initiatives
  • Coordinate daily with project management teams, owners, architects, and consultants
  • Drive project progress and proactively resolve field-related challenges
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget expectations
  • Conduct regular jobsite meetings and maintain accurate project documentation
  • Monitor sitework operations and coordinate critical construction sequencing activities
  • Maintain strong client relationships and represent the company professionally on-site
  • Mentor assistant superintendents and field staff while fostering a positive team culture

The Successful Applicant

A successful Superintendent - Education/Federal - Northern, VA should have:

  • Experience as a Superintendent on ground-up construction projects
  • Previous experience managing K-12, higher education, municipal, commercial, or similar large-scale projects preferred
  • Ability to oversee projects ranging from $30M to $150M+ in value
  • Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, scheduling, and site logistics
  • Proven track record of managing subcontractors and driving project schedules
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with significant sitework scopes is highly desirable
  • Ability to work onsite throughout Northern Virginia project locations
