Job Description

The responsibilities of a Superintendent:

  • Lead healthcare construction projects from the field as the primary on-site superintendent.
  • Manage occupied healthcare renovations, expansions, and select ground-up healthcare projects.
  • Coordinate complex phased construction activities while maintaining uninterrupted facility operations.
  • Drive project schedules and proactively manage milestones and critical path activities.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, quality, productivity, and site logistics.
  • Coordinate significant mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) installations and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare-specific safety standards, infection control procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with project management teams, owners, designers, and healthcare facility stakeholders.
  • Manage operating room renovations, rooftop unit replacements, and other technically challenging scopes.
  • Deliver projects successfully within schedule, budget, and quality expectations.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Healthcare Superintendent should have:

  • Proven healthcare construction experience, including: Occupied healthcare renovations, Hospital or medical facility expansions, Operating room renovations, Complex MEP-intensive projects, Phased construction environments
  • Strong understanding of healthcare safety, infection control, and facility operations.
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and maintain schedule performance.
  • Highly motivated, driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced, performance-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to work a field-based schedule typically ranging from 50-60 hours per week.
  • Experience with GMP and Lump Sum project delivery methods preferred.
  • Software proficiency to be confirmed (potentially Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, BIM, Bluebeam, and related construction technologies).

  • Annual Bonus: Typically $20,000-$50,000+, with significant upside based on performance
