About Our Client

Our client is a privately held construction management and general contracting firm with approximately 90 employees and annual revenue of roughly $100M. The company delivers construction management, design-build, general contracting, and preconstruction services across Maryland, Washington DC, Northern Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Known for combining the expertise of a large contractor with the agility of a smaller organization, the company maintains a strong reputation for quality, safety, and client satisfaction. The Superintendent plays a critical role in project execution, and Superintendents are empowered with significant autonomy and direct access to leadership. This Superintendent position offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing portfolio spanning healthcare, education, life sciences, industrial, retail, and historic projects.

Job Description

  • Lead all on-site construction activities for a major K-12 school renovation project in Washington, DC.
  • Manage day-to-day field operations, subcontractors, scheduling, logistics, and site coordination.
  • Ensure project milestones, budget objectives, safety standards, and quality expectations are achieved.
  • Coordinate with project management teams, design professionals, owners, and trade partners throughout construction.
  • Drive proactive planning and problem-solving to maintain project schedules and minimize disruptions.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, site cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.
  • The Superintendent will oversee renovation work including school reconfiguration, MEP system upgrades, roofing replacement, and green roof installation.
  • The Superintendent will play a key role in delivering a high-quality LEED-certified educational facility.
  • Successful Superintendents will contribute to the firm's reputation for technical rigor, operational excellence, and client service.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven Superintendent experience on commercial construction projects.
  • Strong background in K-12, education, institutional, renovation, or occupied-space projects preferred.
  • Experience managing complex MEP coordination and building system upgrades.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead subcontractors and field personnel effectively.
  • Strong scheduling, planning, and project execution skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality control.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience with LEED-related projects is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working within a collaborative, owner-led construction environment.
