Job Description

The Superintendent will:

  • Lead all on-site construction activities for an $18M K-12 school renovation project in Washington, DC.
  • Oversee daily field operations, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and site logistics.
  • Manage a 41,000-square-foot school reconfiguration involving extensive renovation work.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system upgrades throughout the project.
  • Supervise construction of a new roof system, including green roof installation.
  • Maintain project safety, quality control, and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, design teams, owners, and trade partners.
  • Drive schedule performance and proactively resolve field challenges.
  • Conduct subcontractor meetings and ensure work progresses according to plan.
  • Support successful project turnover and project closeout activities.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Superintendent should have:

  • Experience serving as a Superintendent on commercial construction projects.
  • Proven ability to manage field operations, subcontractors, and project schedules.
  • Experience overseeing renovation and complex occupied-facility projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple trades in an active construction environment.
