Job Description

The Superintendent is responsible for:

  • Leading field operations and providing technical oversight on projects exceeding $8M+
  • Driving safe, timely, and profitable project delivery.
  • Managing day-to-day site operations, including subcontractor and trade coordination.
  • Enforcing safety standards and promoting a strong safety-first culture.
  • Driving project schedules and sequencing to meet key milestones.
  • Supporting cost control and field productivity to align with financial goals.
  • Interpreting drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure quality execution.
  • Leading site meetings, tracking progress, and resolving field issues.
  • Coordinating with project teams, clients, and engineers to maintain alignment.
  • Overseeing technical scopes, including utilities, mechanical, and electrical work.
  • Mentoring and developing field staff to drive team performance.

The Successful Applicant

The right candidate has the following qualifications:

  • 7-10 years' of Superintendent experience within Mechanical / Heavy industrial project background.
  • Must have MA CSL, OSHA-10, OSHA-30
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully supervise projects of at least $3.5M with the capacity to manage single projects between $4M and $8M.
  • Thorough knowledge of pump and machine repair, basic electrical knowledge; craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, cost control schedules and safety required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the general and subcontract documents, drawings and specifications, construction means, methods and materials, understanding of line and grade and survey methods.
  • Knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting procedures.
  • Computer skills required, including familiarity with Microsoft office suite programs.
  • Knowledge of scheduling software (Primavera, Microsoft Project etc.)
  • Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card and pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid unrestricted Driver's License.
  • High school diploma or technical training required; degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
