We are seeking a Corporate Tax Director to join a growing team based in Houston, Texas. This role follows a flexible hybrid schedule (2-3 days in-office) and reports to an international Tax Managing Director.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities1. Corporate & Regional Tax Leadership

  • Serve as the primary U.S. tax lead and liaison with global finance and tax leadership.
  • Implement global tax strategies, policies, and governance frameworks at the regional and local levels.
  • Provide structured insights, analysis, and recommendations on tax risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure timely escalation and resolution of material tax matters.



2. Tax Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee all U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance processes in alignment with global standards.
  • Partner with finance teams and external advisors to ensure accurate and timely filings.
  • Monitor tax law developments and evaluate implications for the organization.



3. Tax Risk Management & Controversy

  • Identify and assess tax risks, supporting mitigation strategies.
  • Lead tax audits and manage controversy matters, including coordinating responses and resolution strategies.
  • Support tax provisioning and risk reporting processes.



4. International Tax & Transfer Pricing

  • Support implementation of global transfer pricing policies.
  • Coordinate documentation efforts and assist with audit defense.
  • Provide input on cross-border transactions, intercompany arrangements, and restructuring activities.



5. Tax & Finance Partnership

  • Collaborate closely with finance leadership to ensure accurate tax reporting (ETR, cash taxes, provisions).
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making with tax insights.
  • Translate complex tax matters into business and financial impacts.



6. Business Partnership & Strategic Support

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and operational teams.
  • Support M&A, expansion, and other strategic initiatives from a tax perspective.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects requiring tax expertise.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of corporate tax experience, ideally within a multinational environment.
  • Strong background in international tax, tax risk management, and governance.
  • Experience partnering with global headquarters and senior finance leadership.
  • Deep knowledge of tax accounting, including IFRS and GAAP provisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate with CFO-level stakeholders.
  • CPA and/or equivalent tax qualification required.
  • Fluency in English required; additional European languages are a plus.
