Job Description

  • Lead engineering efforts for transmission EPC projects, from early-stage development through execution handoff.
  • Serve as the technical lead during pursuits, supporting scope development, estimating, and risk evaluation.
  • Collaborate with construction partners and cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate technical risks, support preliminary routing and design, and develop bill of materials.
  • Drive scope, schedule, and budget development, with a focus on constructability, procurement support, and critical path planning.
  • Provide value engineering solutions to optimize design, materials, and overall project delivery.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil/structural, geotechnical, environmental, real estate, GIS, and substation groups.
  • Support go/no-go decisions, proposal development, and client presentations.
  • Lead or support in technical roles such as Engineering Manager, Discipline Lead, or Technical Advisor.
  • Develop and implement standard engineering practices, templates, and processes to support EPC project delivery.
  • Mentor and lead engineering teams, fostering collaboration and technical growth across distributed teams.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; PMP preferred
  • 10+ years of transmission line engineering experience
  • 5+ years leading engineering teams on EPC or large infrastructure projects
  • Strong experience in transmission design up to 500kV, including routing, structure spotting, materials, sagging, and foundation design
  • Experience with tools such as PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, PLS-Tower, MFAD, and LPILE
  • Background in developing engineering scope, schedules, and budgets for complex projects
  • Experience with design, procurement, and construction phases of transmission projects
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate across stakeholders
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
