Job Description

  • Lead day-to-day field operations for federal, government, and defense construction projects nationwide.
  • Manage subcontractors, field personnel, safety, quality, schedules, and overall site execution.
  • Coordinate with project management teams, owners, government representatives, and subcontractors throughout construction.
  • Oversee projects ranging from ground-up construction to government services and specialized assignments.
  • Travel extensively to active projects throughout Connecticut, Texas, Florida, Alabama, California, the Carolinas, New England, New York, and other U.S. locations.
  • Support first-, second-, and overnight-shift assignments depending on individual project requirements.
  • Maintain project schedules while ensuring work meets applicable quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
  • Provide clear field leadership and resolve construction challenges to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Adapt to varying project locations, scopes, teams, and schedules throughout the year.

The Successful Applicant

A Successful Traveling Superintendent should have:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to requirements associated with federal, government, and defense projects.
  • Must be willing and able to travel nationally for the majority of the role.
  • Previous construction Superintendent or comparable field leadership experience required.
  • Ability to independently manage day-to-day construction site operations and subcontractor activities.
  • Flexibility to work first, second, or overnight shifts based on project requirements.
  • Federal or government contracting experience is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience supervising federal construction projects is particularly desirable for candidates seeking the top end of the compensation range.
  • Strong communication, organization, scheduling, and field coordination skills.
