Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate and secure investment opportunities within the designated region, meeting established regional production targets
  • Structure and negotiate transactions, including issuing and executing letters of interest with developers/sponsors
  • Collaborate with capital markets and investor relations teams to identify and secure investor participation
  • Lead regional marketing and business development efforts
  • Build and maintain relationships with nonprofit and for-profit developers, lenders, funders, and allocating agencies
  • Represent the organization externally at industry conferences, meetings, and forums
  • Develop and execute a regional business plan, including market strategy and production goals
  • Structure transactions in compliance with internal underwriting standards and investment parameters
  • Develop proficiency in internal financial models, investment fund structures, and underwriting tools
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., project management, asset management, reporting) to support deal execution and ongoing portfolio performance
  • Provide reporting and transaction updates to senior leadership and internal stakeholders

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in finance, business, economics, urban planning, or related field preferred
  • 5-10+ years of experience in real estate underwriting, structured finance, or investment originations
  • Strong experience with complex real estate transactions and financial structuring
  • Demonstrated knowledge of affordable housing finance programs (including tax credit structures)Federal, state, and local funding programs, real estate underwriting principles
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and relevant financial tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial structures clearly
  • Proven ability to build and maintain external relationships
  • High level of professionalism and client service orientation
