Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting and reporting for employee compensation, including salaries, bonuses, commissions, deferred compensation, and equity-based awards
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses related to compensation expenses
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with a focus on payroll and compensation accruals
  • Partner with HR, Payroll, and Finance teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of compensation data
  • Manage accounting for share-based compensation, including stock options and RSUs, under relevant accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP or IFRS)
  • Analyse compensation trends and provide insights to senior management and FP&A teams
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and external regulatory requirements
  • Assist with audits by preparing supporting documentation and responding to auditor queries
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance controls, and drive operational efficiency
  • Contribute to system implementations or enhancements related to payroll and compensation accounting

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5- 10 years of relevant accounting experience (public accounting or industry)
  • Strong understanding of compensation-related accounting, including payroll and equity compensation
  • Familiarity with US GAAP (or IFRS) and internal controls frameworks
  • CPA or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is advantageous
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with HR and Finance stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Competitive annual salary ranging from $135,000 to $175,000.
