About our Client Our client is a global sports, fashion and entertainment company. Since 2018, they have expanded into many new verticals such as podcasts, VIP experiences, sports betting business and OTT streaming. Our Client’s NeedGiven the expansion into several verticals, and a shift in focus from profitability to product enhancements, our client was looking to build and grow its inhouse technology team, starting with 6 Data Engineer and 5 Data Scientist roles on a remote basis. Our successful partnership with our client’s sister company (a youth sports SaaS company) earned us an introduction to the HR team and we won the pitch against other recruitment agencies. Our SolutionWith the client’s rapid growth, and this being our first time working with them, Michael Page Technology’s Account Lead met with their HR and the VP of Data Science and Engineering to scope out the entire assignment including clarity around the job responsibilities for each role. Given the remote nature of the roles, we targeted candidates from multiple metropolitan areas, leveraging our national database of data professionals, our market-specific salary insights. We ensured candidates for the roles had a minimum of 3 years’ Python and SQL coding experience and had previously worked with a tech company across any industry. Our shortlist included candidates who were self-driven and collaborative, and we presented testimonials in support of each shortlisted candidate. To keep the recruitment process smooth, we consistently followed up with the hiring team for feedback on each candidate’s performance and identified the need for consistency in the process of reviewing the performance, especially at the technical assessment stage. ResultsAs a result of our attentive and professional approach during the hiring process, all 11 open roles were filled.
