A fast-paced hospitality business is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close. This role combines hands-on accounting with team oversight and requires full-time, on-site presence in Flatiron.

Job Description

  • Oversee daily and weekly revenue reconciliation and financial reporting
  • Prepare and distribute daily flash reports to senior stakeholders
  • Manage reservation deposit tracking, redemptions, and refunds
  • Supervise accounts payable, including vendor payments and invoice review
  • Review and support the work of a Staff Accountant
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain balance sheet accuracy
  • Lead month-end close processes, including journal entries, accrals, and prepayments
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, KPIs, and variance analysis (revenue, COGS, payroll)
  • Reconcile tip pools and commission reporting, identifying discrepancies
  • Support sales tax and commercial rent tax filings
  • Maintain organized financial records and adhere to strict reporting timelines

The Successful Applicant

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally within hospitality or a high-volume environment
  • Prior experience managing or mentoring junior staff preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Analytical and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Comfortable working on-site 5 days per week in Flatiron
