The Assistant Project Manager will support the delivery of large-scale government and secure facility construction projects throughout the Washington, DC region. This role provides hands-on exposure to project coordination, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and client-facing construction operations.

Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager will:

  • Support Project Managers and Project Executives in the planning and execution of government construction projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and internal project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track project schedules, milestones, procurement activities, and critical deliverables.
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, contract administration, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project budgets and help maintain financial performance objectives.
  • Communicate project updates and coordinate activities between field and office teams.
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain accurate project records.
  • Support construction activities within secure and mission-critical environments.
  • Assist with project closeout, punch list management, and turnover documentation.
  • Help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Project Manager should have:

  • 2-5 years of experience in construction project management, project engineering, or project coordination.
  • Experience supporting commercial or government construction projects.
  • Exposure to federal construction projects and government contracting environments.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Experience coordinating with subcontractors, project teams, and stakeholders.
