The company operates in a retail environment that prioritizes operational efficiency and continuous improvement, with a clear focus on strengthening internal controls and leveraging systems to streamline processes.Job DescriptionThe key responsibilities of the Assistant Controller are:Support the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reportingPrepare balance sheet and P&L schedules and assist with financial statement analysisPerform account reconciliations and investigate variancesReview journal entries for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentationAssist in overseeing general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functionsHandle day-to-day accounting activities, including invoice approvals, vendor coding, and reconciliationsMonitor invoicing and collections to ensure accuracy and timeliness of revenueSupport external audits by maintaining documentation and ensuring audit readinessHelp develop, improve, and maintain accounting procedures and internal controlsContribute to system and process improvements, as well as ad hoc projectsMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
