Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager - Civil Construction - Columbia Construction will:

  • Effectively draft memos, reports and documents.
  • Support the project manager and the project team.
  • Gain exposure to Welkin's functional areas: estimating, field operations, cost control and quality management.
  • Work closely with other project engineers.
  • Write letters to subcontractors and vendors.
  • Communicate project requirements to subcontractors and vendors.
  • Understand and update the CPM schedule by interacting with the Welkin project team and scheduler.
  • Assist in the preparation and negotiation of change orders.
  • Review drawings for changes and clarifications.
  • Meet with members of the Owner's team to administer day-to-day activities such a planning access and preparing work plans and safe work plans.
  • Assist in MWDBE plan development, plan execution and continual compliance.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

The Successful Applicant

The Assistant Project Manager - Civil Construction - Columbia should have:

  • 4+ Years of Experience in Heavy Civil Construction Markets - Site work, land development, Grading, Utilities, Water, etc.
  • Bachelors Degree in a Construction related field is highly preferred
  • Proficient in a variety of construction software's
  • Excellent communication skills is preferred
