Job Description

As an Assistant Project Manager - Construction - New London, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting Project Managers throughout all phases of project delivery
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and project cost tracking
  • Managing RFIs, submittals, and change order logs
  • Coordinating subcontractors, consultants, architects, and engineers
  • Assisting with procurement and contract administration
  • Maintaining project schedules and milestone updates
  • Monitoring project documentation and reporting requirements
  • Supporting field teams and Superintendents with project coordination
  • Participating in project meetings and preparing meeting minutes
  • Reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
  • Tracking project progress and assisting with issue resolution
  • Supporting project closeout and turnover activities
  • Utilizing construction software to manage project documentation, correspondence, and reporting

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in Project Engineering, Project Coordination, or Assistant Project Management
  • Experience within any construction sector, including commercial, multifamily, healthcare, education, industrial, custom homes, or residential construction
  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Viewpoint, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of RFIs, submittals, change orders, budgeting, and project controls
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong work ethic and desire to grow into a Project Manager role
  • Former athletic experience is a plus, but not required. Candidates with athletic backgrounds often bring leadership, discipline, teamwork, competitiveness, and accountability that translate well into construction management.
