Our client, a mid-sized General Contracting firm located in Kansas City, is looking to add a talented Assistant Project Manager to their growing team! The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing on behalf of the client to successfully complete quality projects on time and within budget.

This $30M client has a strong reputation on the market allowing them to maintain a steady backlog of projects. They touch all market sectors but have a strong pipeline of commercial and multifamily at the moment. They're looking to grow over the next 5 years and need to hire multiple Project Managers they can train and develop. This client likes to promote from within so there is opportunity for quick growth in this position.

Job Description

  • Providing project leadership and establish, implement and support a proactive project safety culture.
  • Manage the development and review of bid packages to procure competitive subcontract proposals.
  • Manage job-site subcontractor meetings to ensure that the project goals are met.
  • Review monthly invoices and oversees documentation and approval needed to ensure timely funding for the project.
  • Lead the management of cost reporting including but not limited to contracts, purchase orders, and scope revisions to achieve defined project goals.
  • Ensure overall financial health of the project and project forecasts.
  • Represent our client in the subcontract negotiations.

The Successful Applicant

  • A solid understanding of project management and construction processes
  • 2-3+ years of construction experience
  • Project experience can range from $200K - $10M
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams
