Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager - Large Scale Federal - Columbia, MD will be responsible for:

  • Assist Project Managers with the planning, execution, and delivery of federal construction projects valued at $5M+.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, clients, and internal project teams throughout all phases of construction.
  • Support project scheduling, budgeting, document control, and procurement activities.
  • Help manage government, federal, and SCIF construction projects while ensuring compliance with client requirements.
  • Track project progress, maintain reporting, and communicate updates to project stakeholders.
  • Utilize construction management software such as Procore and/or Primavera P6 to support project execution.
  • Participate in project meetings, site visits, and client interactions.
  • Assist with change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project closeout documentation.
  • Work closely with senior leadership and project executives to ensure successful project delivery.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Project Manager - Large Scale Federal - Columbia, MD should have:

  • 2-5 years of construction project management or project engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting federal, government, military, or secure facility projects preferred.
  • Exposure to SCIF, mission-critical, or highly regulated construction environments is a plus.
  • Experience working on projects valued at $5M or greater.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project documentation, and coordination.
  • Familiarity with Procore and/or Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Columbia, MD and/or Washington, DC project locations.
  • Ability to successfully complete an extensive background investigation and provide professional references.
