Job Description

  • Support Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of assigned projects
  • Manage day-to-day project activities under the direction of the Project Manager
  • Prepare and assist with invoices, estimates, meeting coordination, and project documentation
  • Track project progress and communicate updates to project stakeholders
  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly project status reports
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of project budgets and cost estimates
  • Solicit bids and proposals from subcontractors and material suppliers
  • Support subcontractor billing processes and help facilitate timely payment activities
  • Assist with the preparation, review, negotiation, and execution of change orders
  • Update project cost reports to reflect approved changes and budget revisions
  • Work on-site as assigned and support field operations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to coordinate field activities
  • Communicate project delays, challenges, and risks to project leadership
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Assist with project startup activities and closeout documentation
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Project Manager - Mission Critical should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in the commercial construction industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of professionalism, accountability, and integrity
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external partners
  • Comfortable working in an active field construction environment, including walking on uneven terrain
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when project demands require
  • Ability to potentially travel extensively and work on projects nationwide
