The Associate Project Manager supports the management and coordination of construction and tenant improvement projects across an assigned portfolio of retail properties in South Florida. Reporting to a Project Manager, this role is responsible for assisting with project execution from planning through completion, including coordination of landlord and tenant work, budgeting, scheduling, reporting, and delivery of space to new tenants.

Job Description

Project Coordination & Execution

  • Support the design, permitting, and construction process for both landlord and tenant work to help achieve targeted rent commencement dates
  • Assist in managing construction projects from conceptual estimating through project close-out for new and existing retail properties
  • Coordinate project activities with internal teams, tenants, consultants, contractors, and third-party property managers
  • Ensure timely execution and delivery of landlord work required under lease agreements



Tenant & Leasing Support

  • Proactively gather and maintain information required by leasing teams to effectively market available spaces
  • Draft and review construction-related lease exhibits as requested
  • Review tenant and landlord drawings to ensure compliance with lease terms, budgets, schedules, and design standards
  • Partner with leasing, legal, asset management, and development teams to ensure lease language and delivery requirements are achievable



Budgeting, Scheduling & Reporting

  • Assist in preparing conceptual project estimates for lease negotiations and budgeting purposes
  • Track project budgets, schedules, and progress against key milestones
  • Provide regular status updates and reporting on active projects
  • Support financial tracking, including review of construction costs and basic project-level reporting



Problem Solving & Communication

  • Serve as a point of contact for tenants and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Troubleshoot design and construction issues as they arise and escalate when necessary
  • Provide scheduling and planning updates to internal stakeholders
  • Facilitate clear communication across all parties to ensure alignment and project success

The Successful Applicant



Education & Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in tenant coordination, construction, or project management, preferably in retail real estate
  • Experience with retail property design and construction processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • PMP, LEED AP, or similar certifications are a plus



Skills & Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Strong customer service orientation with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
  • Financial acumen, including basic construction cost analysis and reporting



Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with project management or construction software tools is a plus
  • Graphic or visual presentation skills are a plus
