Job Description



Business Development & Sales

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the retail construction market.
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to support company growth objectives.
  • Build relationships with retail brands, developers, landlords, architects, project managers, and industry influencers.
  • Generate and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities across new and existing clients.
  • Lead client outreach efforts, presentations, networking initiatives, and industry events.



Client Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to drive repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the client lifecycle, ensuring exceptional customer experience.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and increase market share within existing accounts.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.



Industry Networking & Market Presence

  • Represent the company at industry associations, trade shows, networking events, and community functions.
  • Develop relationships with architects, designers, developers, tenant representatives, and commercial real estate professionals.
  • Stay informed on market trends, upcoming retail developments, and competitive activities.



Subcontractor & Partner Development

  • Build and strengthen relationships with key subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners.
  • Expand the company's subcontractor network to support growth initiatives and project execution.
  • Identify strategic partnerships that create new business opportunities and enhance service capabilities.



Proposal & Preconstruction Support

  • Work closely with estimating and leadership teams to develop winning proposals and presentations.
  • Participate in client interviews, project pursuits, and contract negotiations.
  • Support go/no-go decisions and evaluate opportunities for strategic alignment and profitability.

The Successful Applicant



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of business development, client development, or sales experience within the construction industry.
  • Experience within retail construction, tenant fit-out, commercial interiors, or specialty construction strongly preferred.
  • Established network of retail owners, developers, architects, brokers, and industry professionals.
  • Proven track record of generating and closing construction opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of construction delivery methods and project lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a results-driven approach.
