Job Description

  • Support Project Managers with the planning, execution, and closeout of construction projects.
  • Coordinate daily project activities between field teams, subcontractors, engineers, and clients.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
  • Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project correspondence.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential schedule or cost impacts.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with estimating and procurement teams to support material purchases and subcontractor coordination.
  • Track quantities, productivity, and project performance metrics.
  • Assist with project reporting, documentation, and client meetings.
  • Support permit acquisition and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA standards and company safety policies.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Civil Project Engineer should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in civil construction, infrastructure, utility, site development, highway, or heavy civil projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, project controls, scheduling, and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of construction software such as Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, or AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • EIT certification or progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites throughout New Jersey as required.
