We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Construction Project Engineer to support the successful planning and execution of heavy civil and site development projects. This role will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Job Description

  • Assist Project Managers with the execution of civil construction projects from inception through completion.
  • Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and technical documents.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Prepare and maintain RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project documentation.
  • Track project schedules, costs, and progress to ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Support procurement efforts by obtaining pricing, material lead times, and vendor proposals.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and assist with field coordination.
  • Work closely with field personnel to resolve engineering and construction-related issues.
  • Maintain project records and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs, budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
  • Support quality control and safety initiatives across all project phases.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Civil Project Engineer should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in civil construction, heavy civil, infrastructure, utilities, roadway, or site development projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project management principles, and engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience with project management and scheduling software is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • EIT certification is a plus but not required.
  • Desire to develop into a Project Manager or senior leadership role within the organization.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to visit project sites as needed.
