Job Description

  • Support Project Manager and Superintendent across all phases of construction, from preconstruction planning through project closeout.
  • Manage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and engineers to maintain project schedules and resolve issues proactively.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and cost controls.
  • Review subcontractor invoices and support financial tracking to ensure alignment with budgets and contract terms.
  • Prepare meeting minutes, progress reports, and project status updates for internal and client-facing meetings.
  • Support procurement of materials and manage purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
  • Assist with permitting, inspections, and project closeout documentation to ensure successful turnover.
  • Maintain strong communication across all stakeholders to ensure alignment and project success.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Commercial Assistant Project Manager should have:

  • 2-5+ years of experience in commercial construction, with exposure to institutional and/or industrial projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, documentation (RFIs, submittals, change orders), and project lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore is a strong plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments and support multiple projects simultaneously.
