We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee substation and transmission construction projects throughout the U.S. This individual will manage field construction activities, coordinate contractors and project teams, and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Job Description

  • Manage daily construction activities for high-voltage substation and transmission projects ranging from 69kV-500kV
  • Oversee site safety, quality control, scheduling, and field execution activities
  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, engineering teams, inspectors, and client representatives
  • Ensure all work complies with project specifications, utility standards, and OSHA regulations
  • Lead construction meetings, progress reporting, and project planning discussions
  • Review construction drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Monitor project schedule, manpower, production, and construction costs
  • Identify and resolve field issues to minimize delays and maintain project progress
  • Support transmission line construction activities including foundations, structures, conductor installation, and commissioning
  • Support substation construction activities including foundations, steel erection, bus work, breakers, transformers, relay/control buildings, and equipment installation
  • Assist with commissioning, energization, punch list, and project closeout activities

The Successful Applicant

A successful Construction Manager - Substation & Transmission should have:

  • 4+ years of construction management experience supporting transmission and/or substation projects
  • Experience managing utility, power delivery, or EPC construction projects
  • Knowledge of high-voltage electrical infrastructure construction practices
  • Experience supporting projects within the 69kV-500kV range preferred
  • Strong understanding of OSHA and construction safety standards
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the U.S.
