We are seeking a hands-on Director of Accounting to lead financial close, reporting, controls, and compliance for a growing consumer products organization. This role partners cross-functionally across sales, supply chain, and finance to drive visibility, improve processes, and support strategic growth.

Job Description



Financial Close & Reporting

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses
  • Prepare internal and external reporting packages
  • Ensure U.S. GAAP compliance



Commercial & Trade Accounting

  • Oversee trade spend, deductions, and promotional accruals
  • Partner with sales/commercial finance on retailer profitability
  • Manage accounting for rebates, fees, and customer programs



Controls, Compliance & Audit

  • Strengthen internal control environment
  • Lead external audit process and auditor relationships
  • Support tax, statutory, and lender reporting requirements
  • Drive documentation and standardization



Leadership & Systems

  • Manage and develop accounting team
  • Drive ERP optimization and automation initiatives
  • Support system implementations and transformations
  • Establish KPIs across close, controls, and productivity

The Successful Applicant

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Minimum 3 years in leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Inventory accounting
    • Standard costing
    • Revenue recognition
    • Trade spend

Preferred:

  • CPG, manufacturing, retail, or food & beverage experience
  • ERP experience (NetSuite strongly preferred)
  • Audit leadership and lender/investor exposure
  • Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth environments
  • Multi-entity or international exposure
