About Our Client

I am partnered with a $500M, industry leader within the Custom Manufacturing, Construction, and Services space. Our client is currently looking to bring on a Director of Billing to partner alongside the VP of Finance of the organization.

The Director will own billing strategy and execution across multiple legal entities, driving modernization within an Oracle environment and partneringcross‑functionally to support significant revenue growth. This role leads a comprehensive transformation of the billing organization, redesigning processes, systems, and team structure to create a scalable, efficient operating model rather than maintaining existing operations.

Job Description

  • Lead the strategy and evolution of enterprise billing operations, defining the future operating model, technology landscape, and organizational structure to support growth across multiple legal entities, including international operations.
  • Assess current billing processes, systems, and team capabilities to identify gaps and scalability limitations, translating insights into a prioritized transformation roadmap.
  • Oversee billing execution across multiple revenue models, including T&M, fixed price, maintenance, milestone-based billing, and internal allocations.
  • Streamline and automate billing workflows, reducing manual effort and complexity while improving speed, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Standardize billing practices across regions and business units, enabling centralized operations and consistent execution.
  • Deliver billing performance reporting and insights, building dashboards and analytics that support operational visibility, leadership decisions, and performance improvement.
  • Own billing systems strategy and delivery, partnering with Technology and vendors to implement and optimize Oracle ERP, billing platforms, and supporting tools.
  • Establish strong controls and governance, ensuring billing accuracy, compliance, audit readiness, and alignment with revenue recognition policies.
  • Drive measurable improvements in billing KPIs, including invoice cycle times, accuracy, dispute resolution, revenue leakage, and downstream AR and cash flow outcomes.
  • Build and lead a high-performing billing organization, scaling talent, structure, and capabilities to support automation, centralization, and sustained growth.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Sales, Legal, Operations, and Client Services to ensure billing reflects contract terms, pricing strategy, and validated service delivery.
  • Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes, systems, and operating models across the organization.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading billing or order‑to‑cash transformations, including process redesign, automation, and scalability initiatives.
  • Strong expertise in process improvement and operational design, with experience applying lean or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working within ERP environments (Oracle preferred) and partnering with IT on system integrations or enhancements.
  • Solid analytical and reporting skills, including proficiency in Excel and experience leveraging data to drive operational decisions.
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across Finance, Sales, Legal, and Operations.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience driving change adoption in fast‑moving, evolving environments.
