We're conducting a search for a Director of Procurement to lead sourcing, procurement, and materials management for a complex manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee a team, manage critical supplier relationships, and ensure material availability supports production, customer commitments, and revenue objectives.

Job Description

  • Lead all procurement and buying activities supporting manufacturing operations and customer programs.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of buyers while driving accountability and performance metrics.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key distributors, manufacturers, and strategic suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, inventory agreements, and commercial terms to support business objectives.
  • Partner closely with planning, production, engineering, and leadership teams to proactively prevent material shortages.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supply chain performance, visibility, and operational efficiency.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Director of Procurement must have:

  • 10+ years of procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5+ years of direct people management or procurement leadership experience.
  • Strong ERP/MRP experience focused on procurement, planning, and materials management.
  • Proven supplier negotiation and relationship management expertise.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen / U.S. Person
