Our client is a global manufacturer of highly technical test, measurement, and quality assurance products used across healthcare and other regulated environments. The business develops a combination of sophisticated hardware and software solutions that help customers test, verify, and maintain critical equipment, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, safety, compliance, and workflow efficiency.

The organization is entering an important period of growth and transformation within its product function. Following several recent product launches, the business is investing heavily in its innovation pipeline and strengthening its product management organization to support continued growth. This role will have significant visibility across the business and the opportunity to influence both the future portfolio and the development of the broader product organization.

Job Description

Lead the product management organization across a complex portfolio of technical hardware and software products. This individual will balance long-term innovation and portfolio strategy with the commercial performance and lifecycle management of existing products.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Managers (5) across multiple product portfolios and geographies.
  • Own portfolio strategy and performance, including revenue growth, margin, competitive positioning, and investment priorities.
  • Build a disciplined innovation pipeline by translating customer needs, market trends, and competitive insights into new product opportunities.
  • Oversee business cases, product roadmaps, stage-gate decisions, and prioritization of R&D investment across the portfolio.
  • Drive successful new product introductions while ensuring appropriate investment in mature products, pricing, and end-of-life decisions.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Quality, and senior leadership to align priorities and execute product strategies.
  • Establish clear product-management processes, operating rhythms, performance expectations, and accountability across the team.

The Successful Applicant

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, portfolio management, strategic marketing, or closely related technical product leadership.
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams, with a strong track record of hiring, coaching, performance management, and building future leaders.
  • Experience managing complex technical hardware products, ideally within test & measurement, medical equipment, scientific instrumentation, healthcare technology, or another highly technical market.
  • Demonstrated success building and executing new product strategies, including VOC/customer discovery, business cases, prioritization, product development, and commercialization.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience influencing revenue, margin, pricing, portfolio investment, and resource-allocation decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively across Engineering/R&D, Commercial, Operations, and Quality within a complex matrixed organization.
  • Experience integrating hardware and software within a broader product portfolio is highly desirable; MBA or equivalent strategic leadership experience is a plus.
